HINES FUEL TANK REPAIR AND UPGRADE

PURPOSE:
Phased approach within an active medical facility, coordinating infection controls and work schedules around hospital operations.
Refurbish and upgrade existing spaces to support the EHRM data upgrade.
Richard served as the design‑builder for the utility improvements and general site work at the VA Medical Center in Hines, Illinois. Working within an active medical campus, the team replaced the existing generator paralleling logic control system and installed a new 15,000‑gallon underground fuel tank with pumps, controls, and cathodic protection. Civil work included full reconstruction of the parking lot and sidewalks, trenching for new ductbanks and utilities, and restoration of asphalt, concrete, and landscaping. Security upgrades encompassed fencing, gates, active vehicle barriers, and lighting.
